The winner in Bryant Park, NYC.

danielle caught a bird

This is Danielle, my four year old niece, holding the pigeon she chased after and successfully caught in Bryant Park in NYC this week. She refused to let the pigeon go, claiming she won it, she was the fastest, it was too slow and as she had been chasing birds for years this one was her prize to keep. Any attempts to ply her with ice cream and carousel rides, or to appeal to her sense of humanity wouldn’t get her to release the struggling bird from her tiny glorious fist. Threat of bird poop, however, was enough to get her to unhand her victory.

    Hello Hello,

Here we are in the South, all pale, touristy and disoriented…. Looking forward to seeing you and showing you our mad badger wrangling skills…..Ava in particular has perfected the half nelson, while Anya is in a different weight division but is so far undefeated against all grey squirrels, though has yet to take on here first red….

Being the sort who would lose his gloves if they weren’t sewn to the sleeves of his anorak, I forgot to bring your phone number with me, could you give me a call on my cell phone when you get this, and we will try and work something out with your schedule and coming up to Savannah…?
